St. Doulagh’s Annual Open Air Service

St Doulagh’s Church, Balgriffin, which is reputed to be the oldest stone roofed church in Ireland still in continuous use, is holding the annual Open Air Service of Praise and Thanksgiving on Sunday 29th June at 3.00pm in St Doulagh’s Field, beside the Church.
The special guest preacher will be Rev. Kevin Brew, Rector of St Mary’s Howth. “Impact ” from Swords Baptist Church and 1st Co. Boys’ Brigade Brass Band will provide the music.
Following the service there will be guided tours of this ancient church and site of Christian worship (circa 6th century).
Everyone is welcome to join us in this service of thanksgiving. The church is located on the R107 Malahide Rd.close to the N32 junction approximately equidistant between Fairview and Malahide.

GENERAL EASTER VESTRY MEETING

April 29th, 2008

As in the last few years, this meeting was held after a united service of Holy Communion in St Andrew’s Church on the morning of Sunday, 30th March. 37 parishioners attended, and there were a number of apologies including some members at a Refuge Egypt service in Killinchy. The meeting heard reports from the Rector, Karen McAllister on Youth Work, Brian Brown on the BFG programme and Derek George on Fund raising.
The treasurer, Nigel Warburton, presented the accounts which were examined and approved.

Your Favourite Hymns at St. Doulagh’s

March 21st, 2008

On Sunday 20th April at 3.30pm, a service of praise and thanksgiving will take place at St. Doulagh’s Church, incorporating hymns selected by you.
The Portmarnock Gospel Choir from St. Anne’s Church, Portmarnock will take part in the service.

There will a retiring collection in aid of St. Doulagh’s Restoration Fund.
