CHRISTMAS MARKET

October 27th, 2009

The Annual Christmas Market will be held in the Parish Centre on Saturday 28th November. We are planning that this vital fund-raising and social event will be better and brighter than ever.
This year we will open the doors at 10.00 am, and the market will run until 3.00 pm.
All the usual stalls will be there, including bric-a-brac, books, cakes, deli, gifts, bottles, raffle etc. There will also an opportunity for young and young at heart to have their photograph taken with Santa (and his little helper).
The organising Committee have put a great deal of effort into ensuring a good Christmas atmosphere including the availability of seasonal refreshments as well as teas, coffees and light lunches.
Your support for this fund raising and social event would be much appreciated.

PREPARATION FOR ADVENT

October 27th, 2009

The Malahide/Portmarnock Ecumenical Committee is organising two events as preparation for Advent.
On Wednesday 18th November there will be an evening of music and meditation in St Sylvester’s Church at 8pm, and on Wednesday 25th an illustrated talk in St Andrew’s Church at 8pm by Canon Patrick Comerford, chaplain to the Church of Ireland Theological Institute on ‘Understanding Orthodoxy and its relevance to us’.
Patrick serves on a number of Anglican Communion bodies which seek to strengthen ties with the Orthodox and Coptic Communions, and is also an expert of Christian-Muslim relationships.

Both evenings will conclude with refreshments.
