The Annual Open Air Service of Praise and Thanksgiving will be held at St Doulagh’s Church on the Malahide Road, on Sunday 24th May 2009 at 3.30pm.
St Doulagh’s Church, is reputed to be the oldest stone roofed church in Ireland still in continuous use as a place of Christian Worship, and the site has links going back to the time of St Patrick.
This year we will be remembering the brothers Charles and John Wesley, and will be singing some of their well known and loved hymns. The preacher at the service will be the Venerable Edgar Swann, former Archdeacon of Glendalough. Music will be provided by 1st Co. Boys’ Brigade Brass Band, and Ichthus. A special collection on will be made in aid of the Dublin Central Mission of the Methodist Church which provides help and shelter for many people in need in our city, regardless of Class, Race, or Creed.
We invite everybody to come and join with us in worshipping God in the open air and get out your slightly used deck chair, for its annual use.
The Church is located on the R107, close to the M11/M50/M1 and parking will be available by kind permission, in the grounds of St Doolagh’s Park nursing home. Bus No’s 42 and 43 stop outside.

The Annual Service of Nine Lessons and Carols will be held on Sunday 21st at 7.00 pm in St. Andrew’s Church. This event is a community occasion, and all parishioners are encouraged to invite friends and neighbours to join with us, for what is one of the most impressive liturgical celebrations in the Anglican tradition. The choir put a great deal of hard work into the musical content of this service and the congregation is drawn from the whole community in Malahide and Portmarnock.
There will be seasonal refreshments afterwards in the Parish Centre.
