December 3rd, 2011
On Sunday December 11th, there will be two carol services in the parish
In the morning at 11.30 am at St. Andrew’s Church, we will be holding our annual Children’s Carol and Gift Service. We ask children of all ages to bring a gift suitable for a boy or girl, indicating on the gift the age and gender of a child who would most appreciate it.
These gifts are presented during the service and afterwards they are forwarded through Barnardos, to children for whom Christmas might otherwise be a bleak time indeed.
In the afternoon at 4.00pm in St. Doulagh’s Church there will be a service of Carols by Candlelight. This service attracts people from far and wide and is broadcast on Christmas Day by our local radio station.
On Sun. 18th December in St. Andrew’s Church the Service of Nine Lessons and Carols will be held in the evening at 7.00 pm. Afterwards all who attend are warmly invited to the parish centre to partake of warming Christmas fare, mince pies and mulled wine.
Further information on services in both churches over the Christmas and New Year period may be accessed in the Information Section of the website.
